Hello my darlings! So today I decided to make a Harvest themed cupcakes! This last weekend was my sisters birthday but I was not able to see her until today so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to make them. :) At the end we made the final decision to make caramel apple cupcakes even though in the picture it says maple brown sugar.
I always use Pillsbury for my mix and frosting because I love they're quality but you can choose whichever brand you like best. The instructions to make the mix is usually on the back of the Pillsbury box and the ingredients that are needed are 3 eggs, 1 cup of water, and 1/2 cup of oil.
After mixing the ingredients together set your oven to 350 degrees for about 15 minutes or however long the box says. Place the mix into the cups on the tray and set the cupcakes in the oven. Don't forget to put on your oven mittens, don't want to get burnt! Since my cupcakes are supposed to be Harvest themed I chose somecups that had Autumn leaves
on them with different colors such as red, brown, and gold. So cute! After your cupcakes are done baking take them out of the oven with your oven mittens and place them on the counter. Leave them there for about 5 minutes to cool off and once you can touch them without burning yourself, take them out to decorate.
For these cupcakes I am using Pillsbury's caramel apple and cream cheese frosting. Each cupcake I made had a different type of design but I show you how I made the one shown in the picture below. I put caramel apple frosting, then crunched up some Kellogg's frosted mini wheats and scattered that over the frosting. Then I took a pumpkin from
Brach's Mellowcreme Autumn Mix Candy and placed on the very top of the cupcake. Btw the crushed mini wheats are supposed to represent hay on a field. Get it? Pumpkin on a hay field? haha! So after finishing all of the decorating on your cupcakes you can place them in a cute little box and give them to someone special or hand them out at a party. Whatever you do I hope this DIY post helped you in your Harvest festivities! Until next time, Bye! <3
